Back to School Closet Makeover

It’s that time of year again! Whether you’re on summer vacation, a teacher, business person or student you are getting ready for a busy few months ahead and maybe reviewing your upcoming fall wardrobe.

Instead of purchasing a whole new closet full of clothes, why not up-cycle your current wardrobe and spice up your summer clothes for fall!

Today, let’s focus on three articles of clothing:

1. Cropped Pants

2. Maxi Skirts

3.Floral Summer Dress

How do I pair these pieces in order to make them seem more geared to fall? Well, by adding a a few articles of clothing and accessories that may already be in your wardrobe, you won’t have to worry about packing away ALL of your summer clothes.

CROPPED PANTS

Cropped pants are super easy to utilize in your fall wardrobe. Wear these pants with a blouse and blazer combo and add a pair of wedge booties to create an adorable look. Want to vamp this pair of pants up even more? Go to your local Walmart or any other store that sells patterned tights and wear them under your cropped pants! This will add a subtle “kick” to your look and also help your image seem more European.

MAXI SKIRT

Maxi skirts are so comfortable why wouldn’t you want to wear maxi skirts year-round?! These skirts will look wonderful with a pair of wedge booties and a fitted shirt. Another addition to an outfit with these skirts are a long knit sweater. You’ll be looking not only comfortable but also fabulously layered for the fall season!

FLORAL SUMMER DRESS

One staple you may think needs to be packed away immediately is the floral dress you loved to show off on girls’ night this past summer. Fear not! Floral is an unexpected pattern in the fall, but can actually be adorable if paired with the right garments.

My favorite way to piece together an outfit with a floral dress is adding an opaque pair of tights, (“Opaque” means a plain color of tights such as black, brown or navy that doesn’t have shine in the tight. You can find these tights almost anywhere!) a cardigan, a plain-colored scarf and riding boots! This outfit is still feminine but also effortlessly chic.

There you have it! Changing over your wardrobe has never seemed easier! If you have any questions about specific pieces in your closet feel free to ask me on Facebook or by e-mail. Happy fall y’all!
